Punjab govt announces Rs2 million reward for hockey team

LAHORE: The Punjab government has declared a reward of Rs2 million for the national hockey team in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Azlan Shah Hockey tournament.
Punjab’s Sports Minister, Faisal Khokhar, took to social media to commend the national team for their remarkable achievements in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and to announce the reward.
Highlighting the team’s remarkable dedication, passion, and hard work, the Punjab Minister for Sports emphasized that Pakistan secured the second position in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup through their splendid performance in the final match.

Earlier today, Japan emerged victorious over Pakistan in the final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, securing a 4-1 win in a penalty shootout in Ipoh, Malaysia.
The final was determined by a shootout after both teams scored two goals each by the end of full time.
