Punjab leads in eunuch registration, NADRA report reveals

ISLAMABAD: Seventy-five per cent of the eunuchs registered with Pakistan’s National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) from 2018 to 2023 are from Punjab, official figures reveal.
Sindh follows in second place, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa third, Balochistan fourth, Islamabad fifth, Azad Jammu and Kashmir sixth, and Gilgit Baltistan seventh in eunuch registrations during this period.
NADRA’s data shows a total of 3,443 registered eunuchs including 1,170 female eunuchs, 1,982 male eunuchs, and 291 identifying as both.
According to the NADRA data, Punjab registered 2,359 eunuchs, comprising 249 female, 2,050 male, and 60 identifying as both.

Similarly, Sindh registered 541 eunuchs, including 148 female, 348 male, and 45 identifying as both. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw 244 registrations, with 69 female, 79 male, and 46 identifying as both. Balochistan registered 104 eunuchs, including 32 female, 38 male, and 34 identifying as both. In Islamabad, 130 eunuchs were registered, with 73 female, 53 male, and 4 identifying as both. Azad Jammu and Kashmir registered 14 eunuchs, with 9 female, 4 male, and 1 identifying as both, while Gilgit-Baltistan registered just one eunuch.
According to the NADRA report, from 2018 to 2023, 1,666 eunuchs applied for Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), with 1,548 issued and 218 applications still pending with NADRA due to various reasons, the documents reveal.
