Grade 8 results

The government of Punjab has announced record-breaking results for the 2026 Grade 8 assessments, marking the province’s first-ever fully AI-enabled, 100 per cent machine-marked examination.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz welcomed the outcome, highlighting it as a major milestone in modernising the education system. Nearly one million students appeared in the exams, with an overall pass rate of 88 per cent, the highest in the province’s history.

The results also revealed a notable gender gap, with girls outperforming boys. The pass rate stood at 92 per cent for girls, compared to 83 per cent for boys.

Students can access their results through the official online portal managed by Punjab Examination Commission from 3 PM onwards.

In her statement, Maryam Nawaz credited the achievement to the hard work of students, the dedication of teachers, and the support of parents. She reiterated her government’s commitment to improving learning outcomes, ensuring transparency through technology, and expanding equal educational opportunities across the province.

Officials say the adoption of AI-based marking is expected to enhance fairness and efficiency in assessments, though it also marks a significant shift in how academic performance is evaluated at scale.
