Punjab rejects reports of extended school holidays

WEB DESK: The Punjab government has dismissed circulating reports claiming an extension in winter holidays for educational institutions across the province, calling them false and misleading.

According to official clarification, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions throughout Punjab will reopen as scheduled on January 12 following the conclusion of winter vacations.

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has categorically denied any plans to prolong the holidays. He stated that the government has made no decision to extend winter breaks and emphasised that rumors spreading on social media have no factual basis.

The minister urged parents, students, and teachers to rely only on official announcements for updates related to academic schedules. He further confirmed that all educational institutions will resume classes strictly according to the previously announced timetable.

Authorities have advised the public to disregard unverified claims and misinformation, reiterating that no change has been made to the reopening date.
