Punjab schools to operate four days a week under new schedule

The Punjab Education Department has issued a new notification announcing revised schedules for educational institutions across the province, introducing a four-day school week.

According to the notification, both public and private schools in Punjab will remain closed on Fridays. The revised schedule outlines that regular school hours will run from 8:00am to 1:30pm.

For institutions operating in double shifts, the morning shift will conclude at 12:30pm. The second shift will begin at 1:00pm and continue until 5:30pm.

The new timings are expected to standardise school operations across the province while accommodating institutions with varying capacities through a structured shift system. Authorities have directed schools to ensure full compliance with the updated schedule.
