ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Advocate Qazi Anwar has made a series of startling claims following his resignation from all party positions. Speaking on a private television program, Qazi Anwar alleged that he was mistreated at the behest of Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan.
He also claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and the CM’s House were used against him, while individuals not affiliated with the party were given preference over him.
Qazi Anwar said he did not want his sacrifices for the party to go to waste, adding that Imran Khan had always respected him. However, he claimed that the party is now effectively being run by Salman Akram Raja and Aleema Khan. He further alleged that a message circulated on Salman Akram’s WhatsApp warned party members that anyone voting against certain instructions would be declared a traitor, and that directions were issued to ensure he was not voted for, prompting him to resign voluntarily.
The former PTI leader also spoke about his personal relationship with Bushra Bibi, saying she referred to him as a brother while he called her a sister. He described her as a pious woman and shared personal anecdotes, while stating he did not understand what grievance Aleema Khan allegedly held against him.
Qazi Anwar maintained that his departure would not harm the party, reiterating that control rests with Salman Akram Raja and Aleema Khan. He also claimed that former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur had approved Rs250 million on his advice, which he said was distributed among bar association presidents across the province. It is noteworthy that Qazi Anwar Advocate resigned from all PTI positions a day earlier.
