Quetta Fire

WEB DESK: A fire broke out at a plaza near Prince Road in Quetta on Monday, prompting an urgent response from local residents and personnel from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Rescue teams and locals worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, but even after five hours, the fire remained uncontrolled, according to Quetta DIG Imran Shaukat. The affected plaza houses several mobile phone, laptop, and garment shops, and some stores contained lithium batteries, which contributed to the intensity of the fire.

Authorities confirmed that security personnel stationed in the market were promptly rescued from the site. Firefighters continue to battle the flames, while PDMA officials coordinate efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.

Officials have urged residents and onlookers to stay clear of the area to ensure the safety of both civilians and rescue teams. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
