Qureshi, Umar record statement before 9 May probe team

LAHORE: The JIT formed to investigate the May 9 incident on Saturday recorded statements of PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) Lahore had issued an order on Friday, instructing PTI leaders to present themselves before the Joint Investigation team, probing violent incidents that occurred on May 9.

In his statement, Qureshi who is the vice-chairman of the party condemned the incident and denied any involvement in the incident.

Pleading innocence, Qureshi told the investigation team he respects state institutions and believes in supremacy of law.
