The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain in Islamabad and several parts of the country during the next few hours.

According to the PMD, rain is expected in Islamabad, while heavy rainfall is likely in Rawalpindi, Galiyat and Murree. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious in view of the weather conditions.

In upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat and Kohistan, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected.

Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi and Nowshera are also likely to receive rain with strong winds.

According to the prediction, thunderstorms and rain are expected in Kohat, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan, while Parachinar, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber may also receive rain with strong winds.

The PMD has also forecast heavy rain and hailstorms at a few places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rain is also expected in parts of southern Punjab and upper Sindh during the next one to three hours.

In southern Punjab, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Taunsa Sharif and Jhang may receive rain.

In Sindh, rain is expected in Larkana, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Sukkur, Dadu and Qambar Shahdadkot during the next few hours.

The PMD said Upper Dir received the highest rainfall of 39 millimetres during the past 24 hours. Malam Jabba received 23mm, while Chitral recorded 9mm of rain.

Pattan received 5mm, Parachinar 4mm and Lower Dir 3mm of rainfall.

In view of the forecast for rain and strong winds in various areas, the PMD has advised citizens to remain updated on weather conditions and exercise caution during unnecessary travel.
