WEB DESK: The king of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, popularly known as SRK received his first National Film Award after giving three decades to the industry. This award is known to be one of the oldest and most prestigious in Indian cinema, recognising excellence in film since 1954.

A National Award is not just about achievement; it’s a reminder that what I do matters.”

Shah Rukh Khan faces backlash for including Pakistanis in CPL team

The 59-year-old star shares this honour with Vikrant Massey, who was recognised for his strong performance in 12th Fail, while Khan was celebrated for his dual role in the 2023 hit Jawan. The two actors were jointly named Best Actor at India’s 71st National Film Awards, where 12th Fail also won the Best Feature Film prize, and Rani Mukerji secured the Best Actress award.

Many famous personalities, including Juhi Chawla, Sonu Sood, Shilpa Rao, Riteish Deshmukh, AR Rehman among others, congratulated him on this achievement.

Some of his fans have criticised the award being given to him for Jawan, they believe it should have been awarded for Swades, a 2004 movie about an Americanized NASA scientist who returns to his native India on a business trip and searches for the nanny who helped raise him.

Shah Rukh Khan’s long-awaited National Award win not only celebrates his past achievements but signals a powerful new chapter in his career.
