Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not willing to hold talks with the government, despite repeated invitations from the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah stated that the issue with the PTI and other opposition parties is their reluctance to sit down for discussions. “This time as well, we tried to initiate dialogue, but their approach remains the same. They have followed this pattern before and will likely continue to do so,” he said.

He added that the Prime Minister, on the occasion of Independence Day, offered the opposition an opportunity to engage in the “Charter of Pakistan’s Stability” and discuss national issues with a view to adopting a joint strategy for their resolution.

Rana Sanaullah further noted that the opposition also boycotted standing committees. “Opposition members could at least have presented proposals regarding the 27th constitutional amendment. We invited allied parties, and they attended. We presented all matters to them and also sought their suggestions,” he said.
