Rawalpindi driving licence authority faces system malfunction

RAWALPINDI: Prospective driving license applicants were left waiting in extensive queues on Thursday as the Rawalpindi online driving licence system experienced an abrupt suspension.
The malfunctioning of the online system resulted in significant inconvenience for citizens, causing a substantial surge in the number of people affected.
City Traffic Police officials acknowledged the slowdown in the system and assured the public that efforts are underway to rectify the glitch promptly.
NHMP to impose heavy penalties on violations
In response to the recent announcement by the Punjab government regarding a substantial fee hike for learner driving licenses for both cars and motorcycles, sources indicate a notable uptick in the number of citizens rushing to apply for licenses before the scheduled increase takes effect on January 1, 2024.
The existing fees for new learner driving license for car and motorcycle is Rs60 and it is applicable till December 31 only
The unexpected technical issues have prompted concerns among citizens and underscored the importance of a swift resolution to minimize disruptions in the licensing process.
