RAWALPINDI: Firefighting operations continued for more than 13 hours to control a massive blaze that broke out at a factory in Rawalpindi, rescue officials said on Tuesday.
According to rescue authorities, at least 21 emergency vehicles and over 80 rescue personnel have been deployed in the operation. Fire tenders and firefighting teams from nearby districts were also called in to assist due to the intensity of the fire.
Officials said that the fire has been brought under control by approximately 75 per cent. More than 200,000 liters of water have been used so far, while water mixed with foam is being sprayed to effectively extinguish the remaining flames.
Rescue authorities added that cracks have appeared in parts of the building as a result of the fire, prompting firefighters to proceed with caution while continuing their efforts to prevent any further damage or risk to personnel.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and no casualties have been reported so far. Firefighting operations are ongoing until the blaze is completely extinguished, officials confirmed.
