Rawalpindi Raid: Punjab Food Authority cracks down on substandard food


In an attempt to stamp out substandard food in the city, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) targeted a juice outlet located in Bajaur Tower in Rawalpindi.

RAWALPINDI: In an attempt to stamp out substandard food in the city, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) targeted a juice outlet located in Bajaur Tower located in Raja Bazaar, on Thursday.

During the raid, the PFA confiscated and destroyed approximately 1,000 liters of substandard juice.

The action was taken following a secret tip-off received by the PFA, a spokesman for the food authority said.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that the juice being sold did not meet the required quality standards and posed potential health hazards to consumers. The food authority destroyed the entire stock in order to prevent its distribution.

Similarly, in Jhang, the PFA destroyed fake milk in a raid on a factory.

As per sources, fake milk and other items from the were seized. A case was also registered against the accused.

According to the Director General (DG) PFA, the fake milk powder was being prepared from water, oil and other chemicals. The DG stated that he hoped to bring “international style policy” for pure milk within the country.
