RAIPUR: Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced a commanding six-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling IPL encounter, chasing down a target of 193 with five balls to spare, thanks to a sensational unbeaten century from Virat Kohli.
Earlier, RCB had put themselves in a strong position after restricting KKR to 192-4 in 20 overs. Kolkata got a mixed start, with skipper Ajinkya Rahane scoring 19 and Sunil Narine managing 18.
The standout performance came from Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 71 off 46 balls.
Rinku Singh also added late fireworks with an unbeaten 49 from 29 deliveries, while Cameron Green contributed 32 runs to push the total to a competitive score.
RCB bowlers initially struggled to contain the flow of runs, but Krunal Pandya and Yash Dayal managed to pick up key wickets and pulled things back in the later stages.
In reply, RCB started strongly, reaching 46-1 in 4.2 overs, with Virat Kohli on 26 and Devdutt Padikkal on 8 at one stage. The chase only grew more dominant as Kohli took control and guided the innings with authority.
Kohli finished unbeaten on 105 off 60 balls, smashing 11 fours and 3 sixes in a masterclass that anchored the chase from start to finish.
Padikkal also played a useful supporting knock of 39 runs, helping maintain momentum in the middle overs.
In the end, Bengaluru comfortably crossed the line at 194-4 in 19.1 overs, sealing a memorable win.
