WEB DESK: A celebrated Sufi scholar and advocate of spiritual reform, Pir Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi, passed away in Jhang on December 15, 2025. His death led to widespread grief across religious, political, and social circles, with leaders paying tribute to his lifelong dedication to Islam, spirituality, and moral guidance.

Muslim League (N) leader and Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal expressed deep sorrow over his passing, recalling his personal reverence for Pir Naqshbandi. “He was a beacon of religious and spiritual guidance, who devoted his life to serving Islam, promoting self-purification, and spreading the message of love and sincerity,” Iqbal said.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman described his death as a collective loss. He lauded Pir Naqshbandi’s more than fifty years of service in writing, preaching, and societal reform, calling him a pillar of Sufi scholarship and practice.

Prominent Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel said he was deeply saddened by the loss of a spiritual guide whose life was wholly devoted to the pleasure of Allah, the service of religion, and the guidance of humanity.

Kashmiri separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also mourned Pir Naqshbandi’s passing on social media, describing it as a significant spiritual and religious loss for the Muslim community. He praised the late scholar’s quiet yet profound service in the fields of self-reformation and spiritual purification.

Pir Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi’s legacy as a Sufi mentor and reformer leaves a lasting imprint on countless followers and the wider Islamic world.
