Reports say Iran’s Larijani has been targeted, Tehran says his message will be released soon
Reports from Israeli and US sources on Tuesday suggested that Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, may have been hit in a military strike, though his condition remains unconfirmed.
Israeli forces also claim that Iranian Basij Force commander Gholam Reza Soleimani was killed in an airstrike, according to Reuters.
Israeli media reported the attack but provided no verification of whether Larijani was killed or wounded. Iranian state outlets have not yet addressed those claims directly.
Instead, Iranian state media said that a message from Larijani will be released soon, fueling uncertainty over both his status and Tehran’s official response.
The lack of clear information comes amid intense conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, with key Iranian leadership figures targeted in recent military operations.
Meanwhile, Larijani’s X account has shared a hand-written note minutes after Israel Katz claimed that Larjani has been assassinated.
He wrote, “On the occasion of the funeral ceremony for the valiant martyrs of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy: Their memory will forever remain in the heart of the Iranian nation, and these martyrdoms will strengthen the foundation of the Islamic Republic’s Army for years to come within the structure of the armed forces. I beseech the Almighty God for the highest ranks for these dear martyrs.”
