‘Ring of Fire’ solar eclipse 2023 will not be visible in Pakistan on October 14

WEB DESK: The last solar eclipse of 2023, known as the ‘ring of fire,’ occurring on Saturday, October 14, will not be visible in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that tje eclipse is scheduled to commence at 8:04pm on October 14 and conclude at 1:55am on October 15.

What does ring of fire mean?

A ‘ring of fire’ eclipse happens when the moon moves between the Earth and the sun, as described by NASA, the United States space agency. The moon will obstruct the sun, appearing somewhat smaller in size, creating a radiant ring in the sky.

Meaning of ‘Ring of Fire’

The eclipse is named after the moon’s position in front of the larger sun, which forms a visual reminiscent of a fiery ring. This occurs because the moon, being farther away during this event than during a total solar eclipse, appears smaller and does not entirely obscure the sun.

Where will the ‘Ring of Fire’ solar eclipse be visible?

The ‘Ring of Fire’ eclipse will be observable in certain regions of the United States, Mexico, and numerous nations across South and Central America.
