Roadside bomb damages ANP leader’s vehicle in Shakardara

In Shakardara, Matta area of Swat, a roadside bomb exploded near the vehicle of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mumtaz Ali Khan, causing damage but no injuries.

Police said the blast occurred close to the car of Mumtaz Ali Khan, a former ANP candidate from PK-9. Khan was en route to attend a funeral when the explosive device, planted about 300 feet from his home, detonated.

Express News reported that a heavy police contingent rushed to the scene, and investigations are underway.

The incident comes as the provincial government holds a peace jirga in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aimed at promoting law and order.
