WEB DESK: Famous American rock band “King of Leon” took a playful jibe at fellow rock band “The Killer” on Thursday.
During an interview on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Kings of Leon talked about their upcoming album “Can We Please Have Fun”, where the band’s backing vocalist and bassist, Jared Followill playfully took a jibe at the The Killers.

While promoting their upcoming album, the band members talked about how they sometimes share their unreleased music with unsuspecting members of the public.
Jared Followill remarked that if members of public loved the new music, he teases “maybe that was us’. But if they do not like the new tune, “I tell them it’s the new Killers song”, he quipped.
The bassist’s remarks immediately led to a flurry of speculations online, with fans of both bands taking this as a hint of a possible feud between the two rock bands.
Neither side has so far confirmed or denied the rumours.
The Kings of Leon debuted in 1999 as a family band consisting of brothers Jared, Caleb and Nathan Follwill along with their cousin Matthew Followill.
Despite their American roots, the band found success across the Atlantic in the United Kingdom (UK). With nine of their tracks peaking at the Top 40 singles music charts in the UK. The American band would also go on to win BRIT Awards in 2008 in two categories.
Almost a decade after their formation, the band finally saw a breakthrough in their home turf, when tracks “Use Somebody” and “Notion” soared to the number one spot on the “Hot Modern Rock Tracks” music chart.
Their upcoming ninth album is slated for May 10 release.

Meanwhile, The Killers debuted as a rock band in 2001, with four members akin to Kings of Leon. The band has easily courted success since their debut, with their first stdio album “Hot Fuss” leaping to number seven spot on the “Billboard 200” chart. The album performed well in the UK as well, where it peaked at number one at the “UK Albums” chart.
The Killers are considered one of the most successful rock bands, having sold over 28 million records globally.
