WEB DESK: Comedy legend Rowan Atkinson is set to make a chaotic return to Netflix this holiday season, stepping back into the role of Trevor Bingley for a brand-new series, Man vs Baby. It is a follow-up to the 2022 hit Man vs Bee, and this time around, the buzz is gone, and is replaced by bawl and burble.

Netflix has officially unveiled the first images from the upcoming series, hinting at a new brand of slapstick havoc. The stills show a festively decorated London penthouse, two babies, and Atkinson’s signature look of bewildered panic. It promises us an all new journey and all the physical comedy fans have come to expect, now with a Christmas twist.

Scheduled to premiere on December 11, Man vs Baby condenses the chaos into four tight episodes. Co-created by Atkinson and screenwriter Will Davies, the series shifts the premise from pest control to parenthood pandemonium, swapping out buzzing insects for bouncing babies.

In the original Man vs Bee (Seul face à l’abeille), Trevor’s attempts to house-sit a luxury mansion were quickly derailed by a single bee, leading to nine episodes of wildly escalating destruction. In Man vs Baby, the babysitting gig proves no less disastrous. Only this time, it’s tinsel, toys, and toddler tantrums fueling the comedy.

The festive setting is complete with twinkling lights and high-end décor. It only raises the stakes for Atkinson’s brand of visual and situational comedy, and with the shorter runtime, Man vs Baby is shaping up to be an ideal holiday binge.

Fans who enjoyed the madcap simplicity of Man vs Bee can expect more of the same: a mostly silent Trevor Bingley getting in way over his head, this time while navigating bottles, buggies, and baby monitors instead of bugs.

The visual gags, awkward mishaps, and perfectly timed chaos look set to deliver another dose of family-friendly humor. As the countdown to December 11 begins, Man vs Baby is already generating buzz, even without the bee.
