Russian Ambassador discusses bilateral trade with Pakistan


ISLAMABAD: Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert Khorev, held a meeting on Thursday with Jam Kamal Khan, the newly appointed Federal Minister for Commerce, to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries.

“There is a need to explore new avenues to promote trade relations,” stated Minister Jam Kamal.

“Record growth in citrus fruit production presents abundant opportunities to enhance trade in this sector,” added Jamal Khan

The minister further said that Russia’s vast market offers Pakistani exporters significant prospects for expansion and diversification.

During the meeting, the Ambassador invited Minister Jam Kamal to upcoming exhibitions in April and July. Furthermore, to broaden the trade horizon, the Ambassador suggested importing halal meat from Pakistan to Russia.

Minister Jam Kamal raised concerns regarding visa issues for Pakistani truck drivers.
