SA vs Pak: Saim Ayub scores another century against South Africa

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani opener Saim Ayub continued his stellar form, smashing another century in the third ODI against South Africa before he was out by Bosch in his maiden wicket.

Ayub’s innings featured 13 fours and 2 sixes, reaching his 100 off just 91 balls. Notably, Ayub had scored 109 runs in the first ODI and 25 in the second match of the series.

Earlier, the toss for the third match was delayed due to rain. South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first.

By the 33rd over, Pakistan had scored 191 runs for the loss of two wickets.

Abdullah Shafique was dismissed for a duck, while skipper Babar Azam contributed 52 runs before being sent back to the pavilion.

Saim Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan are currently at the crease, continuing Pakistan’s innings.

On Tuesday, Pakistani all-rounder Salman Agha dominated in both batting and bowling, leading Pakistan to victory in the first of the three match ODI series.

The national team for the match includes captain Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, and Sufiyan Muqeem. 

Notably, Pakistan holds an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. 

It is worth mentioning that this game is South Africa’s annual “Pink Day” match, during which the team wears pink jerseys to raise awareness about breast cancer.
