Salah to leave Liverpool at end of the season

LONDON: Liverpool FC forward Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the end of the season, the Premier League side said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to ensure transparency about his future, out of respect and gratitude for them,” the club said.

Salah, who joined Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma, has been one of the club’s most influential players in recent history. The Egyptian forward played a key role in Liverpool’s successes, including winning the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League title in 2020.

Known for his pace, finishing, and consistency, Salah has scored hundreds of goals for the club and established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s modern era. His departure will mark the end of a highly successful chapter for both the player and the club.
