Sanam Saeed announces birth of baby weeks after delivery

KARACHI: Actor Sanam Saeed has confirmed the birth of her first child, a son, nearly a month after his arrival.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” star revealed that her baby boy, named Vali Hassan Mirza, was born on May 18. She requested prayers for the health and well-being of both mother and child.

She uploaded a poster and captioned it: “Our hearts are full. With love, wonder, and the tiniest little fingers. We welcome our son Vali Hasan Mirza into the world surrounded by love. All that is by the will of Allah — there is no power except through Him.”

The actress also requested her fans to “please keep our little one in your duas [prayers].”

While Sanam Saeed did not disclose where the birth took place, fellow celebrities and fans flooded her post with congratulatory messages.

Actress Mawra Hocane, while congratulating the couple, admired the newborn’s name and promised to come soon “to see the little handsome”.

Interestingly, just days before giving birth, Sanam had announced her pregnancy publicly for the first time in a May 12 post, stating that she was expecting soon. Her baby was born less than a week later.

Sanam Saeed and fellow actor Mohib Mirza confirmed their marriage in March 2023 during an appearance on a talk show, though rumours of their relationship had been circulating since 2020 following their appearance in a movie together.

This is the second marriage for both. Mohib was previously married to model Aamina Sheikh; the couple divorced in 2019 and share a daughter. Sanam Saeed married her childhood friend Farhan Hassan in 2015 but they couple ended in divorce, which she confirmed in 2018.

Now in their 40s, Sanam and Mohib have welcomed their first child together roughly two and a half years after publicly confirming their marriage.
