Sarfraz Bugti joins PPP

ISLAMABAD: Former caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti has announced to join Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Sarfraz Bugti made the formal announcement to join the People’s Party (PPP) in Turbat in presence of the former president Asif Ali Zardari.

Asif Zardari arrived on a daylong visit of Turbat in Balochistan on Monday to attend the party’s workers’ convention.

Sarfraz Bugti had resigned as caretaker interior minister last week after the formal announcement of elections.

Bugti said he had decided to resign from the office about two months ago to take part in the upcoming general elections, and that was why he had submitted his resignation before the announcement of the election schedule. 

Sarfraz Bugti’s father Mir Ghulam Qadir Masori, an elder of a sub-clan of Bugti tribe, was said to be a leader of the People’s Party.
