Saudi Arabia bus accident: Dozens of Indian pilgrims feared dead

MEDINA: At least 45 people died in a Saudi Arabia bus accident on Monday after a vehicle carrying Indian pilgrims crashed near Medina, officials confirmed.
“There are 45 fatalities, and only one survivor who is currently hospitalized,” said V.C. Sajjanar, a senior police officer from India’s Southern Telangana state.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on X that he was “deeply saddened” by the tragic Saudi Arabia bus accident and expressed condolences to the victims’ families.
The horrific accident occurred near Holy site Medina when a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims on its way from Mecca collided with a diesel tanker that took the lives of 42 Indian pilgrims on the spot with 11 other children severely injured.
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan agreement for Hajj 2026 arrangements
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a formal agreement in Jeddah on Nov 9 to provide Pakistan pilgrims with high-quality facilities during Hajj 2026.
The Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has also announced that all applications for the government’s Hajj Scheme 2026 that have paid first installment dues have been successfully accepted.
