Saudi armed forces chief meets PM, both vow to further strengthen ties

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff Gen Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday.
During the meeting, the prime minister extended his best wishes to the Saudi leadership and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
He lauded Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support and solidarity, noting that the ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom are rooted in shared faith and mutual trust.
The prime minister also referred to his highly successful visits to Riyadh over the past two months.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to deepening bilateral defence cooperation.
In response, Gen Al-Ruwaili conveyed greetings from the Saudi leadership to the prime minister and the people of Pakistan, and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s strong desire to elevate the defence and strategic partnership to new heights.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and senior officials from both sides.
During the discussions, both leaders exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, security, and defence strategies, and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen relations and promote defence partnership between the two countries.
