Saudi crown prince commends Pakistan’s unwavering pursuit of regional peace

WEB DESK: In a conversation that underscored the “brotherly ties” between the two nations, the Crown Prince lauded Islamabad’s consistent advocacy for peaceful dialogue and resolution.

The call comes at a time of heightened regional sensitivity, with Pakistan increasingly positioning itself as a mediator in Middle Eastern affairs, according to the Express Tribune.

A shared commitment to stability

According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s “strong condemnation” of recent attacks targeting the Kingdom.

Expressing “unwavering solidarity,” the Prime Minister praised the Saudi leadership for exercising “remarkable restraint” despite the provocations, noting that such composure was vital for preventing a wider conflict.

The dialogue also touched upon broader Islamic unity, with the Prime Minister urging the Ummah to stand together during these “challenging times.”

He called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the region, stressing that lasting stability could only be secured through the restoration of normalcy and the prioritisation of diplomatic channels over military confrontation.

The exchange concluded on a personal note, with both leaders exchanging Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. Reassuring the Crown Prince of continued support, PM Sharif remarked that Pakistan would remain a steadfast ally, mirroring the support the Kingdom has historically provided to Pakistan.

The two leaders have agreed to maintain “close coordination” at all levels to navigate the evolving security landscape.
