Saudi-Pakistan business council seeks investment opportunities in motorway projects

WEB DESK: The Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Business Council, Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, called on Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Thursday, where both sides discussed avenues for strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation, particularly in the infrastructure sector, according to Arab News.
During the meeting, the Federal Minister highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing motorway and highway development projects and invited Saudi investors to explore participation in key initiatives, offering what he described as viable and profitable investment opportunities.
Focus on key motorway projects
Abdul Aleem Khan specifically identified the M-6 (Sukkur–Hyderabad), M-10 (Karachi Port–link) and M-13 (Kharian–Rawalpindi) motorway projects as attractive prospects for investment, noting their commercial significance and strategic importance for regional connectivity and trade facilitation.
He said work on new highways and motorways across the country was progressing at a fast pace, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving transport infrastructure.
Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud expressed interest in exploring investment in the identified motorway projects, stating that the Saudi-Pakistan Business Council could also play a role in fostering partnerships within the communications and infrastructure sectors.
Strengthening bilateral economic ties
The Communications Minister said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed long-standing, time-tested and fraternal relations, adding that the people of Pakistan held deep religious and emotional ties with the Kingdom.
He stressed that Saudi investors would be facilitated in every possible manner to ensure smooth and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Prince Mansour assured full cooperation from the Business Council platform and expressed optimism regarding his visit to Pakistan, saying it would help further deepen economic and institutional linkages between the two countries.
Both sides agreed that enhanced cooperation in infrastructure and connectivity projects would contribute to regional trade growth and further cement bilateral relations.
