ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has officially announced its winter vacation schedule for 2025. According to a recent notification, the court will be on vacation from December 18, 2025, to December 31, 2025, and will reopen on January 1, 2026.
The court has also announced the list of cases that will be urgently heard before the apex goes into winter break, While the court will be closed for hearings during this period, the Supreme Court offices will remain open, ensuring that administrative functions continue. Importantly, urgent cases will still be heard during the vacation period.
This announcement follows a similar one made by the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) earlier this week. The newly established FCC will also be observing a winter break, with the court closed from December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The court will resume normal operations on January 5, 2026. Similar to the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Court’s offices will remain operational during the break, and both urgent and scheduled cases will be heard as necessary.
The winter vacation period provides a brief respite for the judiciary, but crucial cases will continue to be addressed as the legal calendar enters the year’s end.
