A shooting at a high school in southeastern Turkey left at least 16 people injured on Tuesday morning, according to local authorities.

The incident took place around 9:30 AM at Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in the Siverek district, when a teenage suspect reportedly entered the campus armed with a pump-action shotgun and began firing indiscriminately.

Officials said the wounded include teachers, students, a police officer, and a school staff member. Several of the injured were later transferred to hospitals in the city center for further treatment, though authorities confirmed that none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, evacuating students as security forces secured the area.

According to Hasan Şıldak, police intervened inside the school, where the suspect was ultimately cornered and killed.

Witnesses described scenes of panic as the attacker moved through the school grounds, firing at anyone in sight before entering the building. The incident has once again raised concerns about school safety, as investigations continue into the motive behind the attack.
