ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: The Islamabad district administration has announced that all educational institutions including public and private schools will remain shut in Islamabad, according to a notification issued early on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister of Maryam Nawaz has announced the closure of all educational institutions including schools and colleges in the province. The step has been taken in light of public safety, she said.
Hospitals and all medical units have also been asked to stay on high alert with emergencies imposed in all units.
The closure of educational institutions comes after India carried out missile attacks against Pakistan.
The Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) has said that India carried out 24 cowardly attacks at six different locations, resulting in the martyrdom of eight Pakistanis and injuries to 35 others.
Addressing a press conference on the war-like situation, the DG ISPR said that India launched unprovoked and cowardly attacks at six sites. Following the Indian aggression, two nuclear powers now stand face to face.
