COLOMBO: Nepal recorded a thrilling victory over Scotland in their 33rd ICC T20 World Cup 2026 clash, powered by an unbeaten spectacular 50 from Dipendra Singh Airee.

Chasing Scotland’s total of 170-7, Nepal got off to a strong start with Kushal Bhurtel scoring 43 off 35 balls and Aasif Sheikh contributing 33 off 27. Captain Rohit Paudel added 16 runs, while Dipendra Singh Airee’s explosive 50 from just 23 balls, featuring 4 fours and an astonishing strike rate of 217.39, took Nepal past the target with ease. Gulsan Jha supported the effort with a quick 24 not out, ensuring a smooth finish.

Extras added 5 runs, and Nepal’s aggressive batting ensured they completed the chase comfortably.

Despite this victory, Nepal’s journey in T20 World Cup 2026 has now come to an end as they’ve finished last in Group C, with only one win, and 2 points.

Earlier, Scotland were asked to bat first, that the Nepal had aimed to restrict the Richie Berrington captained team to a limited total.

Scotland posted a challenging 170-7 in their 20 overs. During their innings, Michael Jones scored 71 off 45 balls, along with 27 from George Munsey and 25 from Brandon McMullen. Despite some quick dismissals of key batsmen, the Scots managed to put up a competitive total, hoping to put pressure on Nepal.
