LAHORE: Pakistan’s bowlers produced a devastating display in the first innings of the second T20 International, bundling out South Africa for just 110 runs. Salman Mirza rattled the visitors’ top order early on, while Faheem Ashraf cleaned up the lower order with disciplined bowling.
Playing at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistani bowlers maintained relentless pressure from the second ball of the innings until the final wicket, dismissing the entire South African side for 110 in 19.2 overs.
Faheem Ashraf was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 23 runs. Fast bowler Salman Mirza claimed 3 wickets for 14 runs, Naseem Shah took 2, while Abrar Ahmed added one to his tally.
Reeza Hendricks was clean bowled on the second ball of the innings by a superb inswinger from Salman Mirza. Quinton de Kock and Tony de Zorzi both scored 7 runs each before getting out, while Matthew Breetzke was dismissed for 10.
Dewald Brevis offered some resistance with 25 runs before falling to Faheem Ashraf. South African captain Donovan Ferreira scored 15, George Linde 9, and Corbin Bosch 11.
At the toss, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said that Shaheen Shah Afridi had been rested for the match and replaced in the playing XI by Salman Mirza.

Under the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha, the team includes Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, and Usman Khan. Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, and Abrar Ahmed complete the lineup.
It is worth noting that South Africa won the first T20 of the series by 55 runs. In that match, played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan were bowled out for 139 in the 19th over while chasing a 195-run target.
