Section 144 imposed in several KP districts amid security concerns

Authorities have imposed Section 144 in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) amid security concerns and law and order issues.

According to official notifications, Section 144 has been enforced across all districts of Dera Ismail Khan Division, including Tank, Upper South Waziristan and Lower South Waziristan.

The restrictions have been imposed due to the prevailing law and order situation in the division, limiting public movement and the movement of various types of vehicles.

In Lower South Waziristan, the movement of loader rickshaws, single- and double-cabin cargo vehicles, Shehzores, Mazda trucks, Suzuki loaders and dumpers has been banned in Wana and Azam Warsak.

The restrictions came into effect at 9pm on October 1 and will remain in place until 9pm on October 10.

Similarly, authorities in Upper South Waziristan have banned the movement of loader rickshaws, cargo vehicles, Shehzores, Mazda trucks, Suzuki loaders, tractor-trolleys and dumpers from October 3 to October 5.

In Dera Ismail Khan, movement has been restricted on Tank Road, Kulachi, Hathala, Kot Atal, Garh Abdullah and several link roads.

The restrictions will remain in effect from 6am to 6pm daily between October 4 and October 6. Potta Hathala Bazaar will also remain closed during this period.

In Tank district, authorities have imposed restrictions on the movement of people, passenger and cargo vehicles, and motorcycles along several routes.

The restrictions will remain in place from 9pm on October 3 until noon on October 5.

Emergency movement involving law enforcement agencies, emergency services and security forces with official permission has been exempted from the restrictions.

Violators of Section 144 will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Earlier, Section 144 was also imposed in Dera Ismail Khan on September 3 due to law and order concerns, resulting in the complete closure of several roads.
