Security forces kill 92 militants in Balochistan

QUETTA: Security forces have completed counterterrorism operations across multiple areas of Balochistan, killing a total of 133 militants over the past two days, according to security sources.

The operations were launched after coordinated attacks at 12 different locations in the province, which authorities say were carried out by militants linked to Fitna-ul-Hindustan. Security sources said all attacks were foiled due to timely action by security forces and law enforcement agencies.

According to officials, 92 militants were killed during the initial phase of the operations, while an additional 41 were neutralised in follow-up actions over the last 48 hours, bringing the total death toll among militants to 133.

Security sources confirmed that 15 security and police personnel were martyred during the operations. In addition, 18 civilians lost their lives in the violence.

Among the civilian casualties were five members of a Baloch laborer family from Khuzdar, who were reportedly martyred in Gwadar, according to officials.

Authorities said operations were conducted at various locations across the province and have now been concluded. Security sources added that assessments of further militant losses and damage are ongoing.

The situation in the affected areas remains under close monitoring as law enforcement agencies continue intelligence-based measures to prevent further attacks.
