DI KHAN: Security forces killed 22 Khawarij militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the militants during the operation. In the crossfire, 22 militants were killed, while a clearance operation is still under way to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.
The slain militants were linked to an India-backed network, and their plot was timely foiled by the security forces, the ISPR said.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operation against the militants and commended their professionalism in sending 22 militants “to hell.”
Naqvi said the brave soldiers once again crushed the nefarious designs of the Kharijites and reiterated that militants would not be allowed to hide anywhere.
He added that security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the restoration of peace are commendable and will continue until the complete elimination of enemies of peace. With the support of the nation, Pakistan will eradicate the menace of terrorism.
