WEBDESK:Security forces killed 10 militants in intelligence-based operations over the past 48 hours in Balochistan’s Surab and Mastung districts, the military’s media wing said Wednesday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations targeted militants of Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, alleging they were operating with Indian support. Seven militants were killed in Surab and three in Mastung, where security forces also arrested two female suicide bombers linked to Fitna al-Hindustan, along with a facilitator. Troops recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the militants.

In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the fight against terrorism would continue until the menace was completely eradicated, describing militants as enemies of Balochistan’s peace, development and prosperity. He added that the entire nation, including himself, stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in their unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism.

Similarly, President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan’s campaign against terrorism driven by external interference would continue, reaffirming the state’s commitment to countering militant threats and maintaining peace and stability in the country.

Lauding the operations, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operations, commending their professionalism and bravery. He described the officers and personnel of the armed forces as “the nation’s real heroes” and said the country was proud of those fighting what he called Indian-sponsored terrorism.

The ISPR added that clearance operations were continuing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area, reiterating that operations would continue until what it described as “foreign-sponsored terrorism” had been completely eradicated.
