WEB DESK: Security forces killed 18 India-sponsored militants in two separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Balochistan on October 28 and 29, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, 14 militants were killed during a major operation in the Chiltan mountain range, while four more were eliminated and their hideout destroyed in Bolida, a locality in Kech district.
Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants during the operations.
The ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were affiliated with “Fitna-e-Hindustan,” an Indian proxy group, and had been involved in multiple sabotage and terror activities across Balochistan.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to continuing operations under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam until the complete elimination of terrorism in the country.
Earlier this October in Kalat district, local tribesmen killed four and injured two militants belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan after a gun battle in Killi Korki, about 35 km north of Kalat. One local was martyred in the clash, which erupted when the India-backed militants attacked villagers and refused to leave the area. Security sources said the tribesmen acted in self-defence after the terrorists repeatedly harassed women. The government uses the term Fitna al-Hindustan for groups such as the BLA and Majeed Brigade allegedly supported by India.
