According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces effectively targeted the hideouts of Fitnat al-Khawarij in Bannu. The security forces after an intense exchange of fire, killed eight terrorists linked to the India-backed proxy group.
The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead terrorists.
The ISPR said that the slain terrorists were involved in multiple attacks against security forces and law-enforcement agencies, as well as target killings of innocent civilians.
The military’s media said that the operation reflects the strong and coordinated cooperation between security forces and law-enforcement agencies.
It further said that intelligence-based operations in the area have increased significantly in recent times, and synchronised security measures have been put in place to restrict the movement and activities of the militants.
According to ISPR, security measures are under way to systematically dismantle the facilitation networks of Fitnat al-Khawarij and reduce their ability to reorganise.
