Security forces kill five Khawarij terrorists in Dera Bugti

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces killed at least five Indian-backed Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the operation, five Indian-supported terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire and weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were recovered from their possession.

The ISPR said that the slain militants were involved in multiple sabotage and destructive activities in the area.

Clearance and sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure the region is fully secured, the ISPR said.

The ISPR stated that the counter-terrorism campaign will continue at full pace under the national stability initiative, reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to completely eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism.

Earlier, security forces carried out two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing nine militants linked to the India-backed faction Fitna al-Khawarij.

According to the military’s media wing, the first operation was conducted on December 5 in the Tank district following credible intelligence about the presence of militants. The forces “effectively targeted the terrorists’ hideout,” the statement said. A heavy exchange of fire ensued, during which seven militants were killed.

In a separate action in Lakki Marwat, security personnel launched another intelligence-driven operation. During the encounter, two more militants were killed, ISPR confirmed.
