Security plan for New Year’s Night

LAHORE: The Punjab Police has devised a comprehensive security plan for New Year’s Night. Special teams have been prepared to take immediate action against any law violations.
According to the plan, a zero-tolerance policy will be implemented against aerial firing, hooliganism, racing, and one-wheeling. Checkpoints will be set up to prevent such activities, said CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana.

Special police squads have been formed to ensure law and order throughout the city while Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Force teams will patrol the city extensively.
CCPO Lahore has ordered action against mechanics involved in modifying motorcycles for one-wheeling.
Punjab police spokesperson said that on New Year’s Night, 395 inspectors, 1125 sub-inspectors, 2060 ASIs, 1310 head constables, and 18,759 constables and other personnel will perform security duties in Rawalpindi. Over 5,000 officers and personnel will be assigned security duties in Lahore.
As per the New year security plan in Lahore and across the province, all activities will be monitored with the help of Safe City and CCTV cameras. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed the police to remain on high alert and keep a strict watch on anti-national elements, emphasising that no tolerance will be shown for one-wheeling, aerial firing, and mischief.
Miscreants who harass women and citizens will be sent to the lock-up. IG Punjab also directed the supervisory officers to ensure coordinated traffic arrangements on New Year’s Night.
