The Senate will hold a session today at 11am in the Parliament House, with the agenda including further amendments to the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, is scheduled to present the proposed changes to the amendment in the house and will move the final approval motion.
The agenda also includes a report on the possible closure of Utility Stores Corporation, which will be presented by Senator Mohsin Aziz, highlighting the matter’s public significance.
A report on the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority Bill will be presented by Masroor Ahsan, Chairman of the Senate’s Food Security Committee.
Additionally, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the State Bank’s report, covering monetary policy, the bank’s targets, and the overall economic situation.
It may be recalled that the 27th Constitutional Amendment was approved by a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly yesterday. During the session, the opposition tore copies of the bill and staged a protest at the Speaker’s podium, boycotting the proceedings. The amendment now includes eight new changes.
