Senior PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq passes away 


Siddiqul Farooq passes away 

RAWALPINDI: Senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board Siddiqul Farooq has passed away. 

According to family sources, the former press secretary to the prime minister and ex-chairman of both the House Building Finance Corporation and the Evacuee Trust Property Board had been battling kidney disease. 

Farooq had a long and distinguished career in journalism and was the elder brother of senior journalist Azhar Malik. 

Family sources said that details regarding his funeral prayers will be announced later.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the death of Farooq and extended condolences to his family, and prayed for the departed soul’s eternal peace. 

In his statement, the prime minister highlighted Farooq’s invaluable contributions to the PML-N, noting that his passing marks the loss of a devoted and astute politician. 

“May Allah grant him a place in Jannatul Firdous,” the premier said.
