Senior politician Zaeem Qadri passes away in Lahore

WEB DESK: Veteran political figure and senior leader of the Awam Pakistan Party (APP), Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, passed away early Friday morning following a heart attack, family sources confirmed. He had been admitted to a private hospital late Thursday night but died in the early hours of Friday.

His funeral prayer is set to take place this evening, after Maghrib, at Lawrence Road, Lahore.

Qadri was a former member of the Punjab Assembly representing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and had also served as a government spokesperson. In recent years, he was actively involved with the Awam Pakistan Party, serving as its Punjab spokesperson.

Political leaders and social circles have expressed deep grief over his sudden passing, remembering his long-standing contributions to Punjab’s political landscape.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed profound grief over the passing of Qadri. In a condolence message, he extended heartfelt sympathies to Qadri’s family and lauded his political and social contributions as “remarkable and commendable.”

The minister prayed for the departed soul to be granted mercy and for the family to be blessed with patience during this difficult time, concluding his message with “Ameen.”
