Shaban moon not sighted in Pakistan; 1st Shaban to fall on January 21

ISLAMABAD: The moon of Shaban was not sighted in Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Monday. As a result, 1st Shaban Al-Mu’azzam will be observed on January 21.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Islamabad to observe the Shaban moon under the chair of Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad. Simultaneous meetings of zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees were also held in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.
Officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, science and technology, SUPARCO, and other relevant organisations participated in the meetings.
After reviewing the evidence regarding the sighting of the Shaban moon, the committee announced that the moon was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan.
