Shaban moon sighted, Shab-e-Baraat on Feb 13

ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced the sighting of Shaban moon and the start of eighth lunar month of the Islamic year from Friday, January 31.

The announcement was made by Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Islamabad on Thursday.

He confirmed the Shaban moon sighting in light of the deliberations and evidence from various parts of Pakistan.

“The committee found skies clear across Pakistan,” he said, adding that the Shaban moon was sighted clearly in Quetta and Thar.

He said the first day of Shaban will be observed on Friday, January 31 while the Shab-e-Baraat will be observed on February 13 (Thursday).
