ISLAMABAD: Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan has successfully undergone shoulder surgery and has begun his recovery process, he announced on social media on Saturday.
Shadab Khan, who has been out of action for a while due to a shoulder injury, shared an image of himself post-surgery and updated fans on his condition.
“Alhamdulilah the surgery went well. Recovery & rehab up next, request you to keep me in your prayers,” the cricketer wrote in his post.
According to reports, Shadab’s full recovery may take two to three months. The rehabilitation process is already underway, and cricketing circles remain hopeful about his strong comeback.
However, it is clear that Shabad Khan would not be part of the upcoming series against Bangladesh and the West Indies in the wake of the surgery.
He was made vice-captain for the New Zealand tour and then for the home series against Bangladesh.

The national team all-rounder took 4 wickets in three matches of the home series against Bangladesh and scored 55 runs in 2 innings. Now the Green Shirts have to tour again this month, but Shadab would not be a part of the team.
The all-rounder’s participation in the Asia Cup is also doubtful as recovery would take months.
The 26-year-old, known for his all-round performances, has long been a key player in Pakistan’s national team. His absence has notably affected the side’s spin bowling strength and overall fielding unit.
He was leading Islamabad United in the PSL 10, which unfortunately failed to defend its title.
Besides a few sarcastic comments on his post, fans and fellow players are sending their best wishes and prayers, expressing optimism that Shadab will soon return to the field in full form.
