ISLAMABAD: The Lahore Qalandars are revving up for the next Pakistan Super League (PSL) with an intensive pre-season conditioning camp in Islamabad, and captain Shaheen Afridi is leading the charge.
“This camp gives new players a chance to understand the team and get to know each other,” Afridi said, reflecting on the squad’s preparation strategy. “The last four to five years in the PSL have been very good for us. It’s not only about winning trophies, the biggest success has been bringing Player Development Programme (PDP) players forward. Players selected from trials across the country have gone on to play at national and regional levels.”
The Qalandars’ development program has been a game-changer. “Many new players have joined the team, including foreign stars,” Afridi noted. “This time too, trials have been held, and some exciting talent has come to the fore. Hopefully, one or two standout players will shine in the PSL.”
With PSL matches set to be played on new grounds this season, Afridi believes fan enthusiasm will reach a new high. “Over the next ten years, many good players will emerge. We are focused on creating opportunities and building a strong foundation for the future,” he added.
As the camp intensifies, the Lahore Qalandars are aiming to blend experience with fresh talent, promising a season packed with energy, excitement, and emerging stars ready to light up the PSL stage.
